About DMCC and Why Hire Approved Auditors?

DMCC (Dubai Multi Commodities Centre) is one of the UAE’s largest free zones, home to trading, commodities, and services companies operating out of Jumeirah Lake Towers. Because DMCC regulates a high volume of member companies, it maintains its own panel of approved auditors — only firms registered on this panel are permitted to sign off on the audited financial statements DMCC accepts. Any DMCC-licensed company preparing for annual account submission, license renewal, or Certificate of Compliance issuance needs an auditor from this approved list; audits signed by non-approved firms are rejected outright.

Audit Requirements for DMCC Companies

  • Annual financial statements must be prepared under IFRS and audited by a DMCC-approved auditor
  • Submission is made through the DMCC Member Portal, typically within 90 days of financial year-end (DMCC has granted extensions in some past years — always confirm the current year’s date on the portal)
  • Most companies must submit within a set number of business days after shareholders approve the accounts at AGM
  • Nil-turnover and newly formed companies are generally still required to file; dormant-entity exemptions are narrow and apply to very few structures
  • Late or missing submissions can block trade license renewal and trigger DMCC-imposed penalties

Documents Required for DMCC Audit Submission

  • Valid trade license, Memorandum of Association, and tenancy contract
  • Trial balance and general ledger for the financial year
  • Bank statements and reconciliations
  • Sales invoices, purchase invoices, and supporting contracts
  • Records of related-party and intercompany transactions
  • Prior year audited financial statements, where applicable
