About JAFZA and Why Hire Approved Auditors?

JAFZA (Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority) is one of Dubai’s largest industrial and trading free zones, home to thousands of companies ranging from logistics and manufacturing to trading and services. Under JAFZA’s implementing regulations, every registered Free Zone Establishment and Free Zone Company must appoint an auditor from JAFZA’s approved list to review and report on its annual accounts. Any JAFZA-licensed company preparing its yearly financial statements, renewing its trade license, or confirming eligibility for the 0% corporate tax rate needs an auditor from this approved panel; reports signed by unapproved firms are not accepted.

Audit Requirements for JAFZA Companies

  • Annual financial statements must be audited by a JAFZA-approved auditor and confirm a true and fair view of the company’s financial position
  • Audit reports are submitted within 90 days of the company’s financial year-end
  • Submission is made through the JAFZA Connect portal (formerly Dubai Trade Portal), with the original signed report sometimes collected by courier for verification
  • The board of directors must sign off on the final audited statements before submission
  • Extensions can be requested from JAFZA in exceptional circumstances, but must be approved before the standard deadline passes
  • Late or missing submissions can result in penalties and delay trade license renewal

  • Valid trade license and Memorandum of Association
  • Trial balance and general ledger for the financial year
